Icon of Coil is a Norwegian futurepop/EBM band formed in 1997 by musician and producer Andy LaPlegua (who later went on to create Combichrist). Initially started as a solo project, it quickly grew into a full band with the addition of Sebastian Komor in 1999 and Christian Lund in 2000.
Blending driving electronic beats, melodic synth lines and dark but accessible vocals, Icon of Coil became one of the most influential acts in the early 2000s electronic scene. Their debut album, ‘Serenity Is The Devil’ (2000), climbed the German DAC Alternative Chart, followed by ‘The Soul Is In The Software’ (2002), which reached the coveted no. 1 spot on the same chart. ‘Machines Are Us’ (2004) further solidified their reputation for combining club-ready energy with introspective, futuristic themes.

Known for their energetic live performances and a polished electronic sound, Icon of Coil toured extensively across Europe and North America, often alongside other scene leaders such as VNV Nation and Covenant. While the band has been largely inactive since the mid-2000s as members pursued other projects, their work continues to inspire the futurepop, industrial and electronic music scenes.
‘Serenity Is The Devil’ had been licensed to Metropolis Records for North America upon its original relesae. The label is now making an expanded 25th anniversary remastered edition available worldwide on 2xLP translucent vinyl and digitally. The package features the previously unreleased ‘SEC FOUR’.
